This hotel was booked on our behalf by a third party and when reading the reviews the day before departure and enroute to Copenhagen we discovered that there was no elevator at the property. We went to the hotel and it is true, no elevator at the hotel. We tried to cancel the booking but the website doesn’t have an email address. I can’t do stairs as I have had a knee operation recently. The person at the reception referred us back to the booking site. He said the information is on the website but it is not on any website advertising the hotel. Nowhere does it say that no elevator is available. We wish them well

My recent encounter at A Hotels City compels me to convey my discontent, considering it crucial to share as a warning for prospective guests. Let's kick off with a glaring issue – the online check-in process veered away from the promised check-in kiosk service, and it only spirals downhill from here. In plain terms, my room lacked the most basic amenities one would reasonably anticipate. From the glaring absence of USB plugs - not a deal breaker, an iron, and an ironing board to the complete dearth of storage, hanging hooks, hangers, and basic provisions such as a mini bar or a safe, the room fell woefully short of even the most rudimentary standards for a satisfactory stay. The absence of an elevator, coupled with the existence of steep, precarious stairs, wasn't merely inconvenient – it was a blatant oversight compromising guest safety and accessibility, especially for those with mobility challenges including those carrying large suitcases and luggage. The bathroom conditions were downright appalling, with a sink nonsensically crammed into the shower – yes, you read that correctly, a sink in the shower! The absence of an extractor fan was glaring. The shower's temperature control was a complete circus, swinging between scorching heat and freezing cold. As if that weren't enough, the feeble dribble from the cold tap intensified the misery, rendering the entire showering ordeal thoroughly unbearable. The room itself posed a hazard with several obstacles that could lead to trips, worsened by the complete absence of bedside tables and lighting A Hotels City is one to steer clear of.

Firstly the Good, can’t really go wrong with the location, brisk 5 or 6 mins walk (without cases) from the Central Station and also fairly close to lots of attractions. Also the staff were very friendly. The Bad, being up on the top floor it was very warm with no a/c or fan and you couldn’t keep the window open as there was too much noise from the nearby main road. Also there was only a thin white blind that blocked out virtually no light at all so I found it almost impossible to sleep. Now for the Absolutely Horrible, the bathroom was a complete joke, no shower curtain, the sink was actually IN the shower, which was also extremely close to the toilet, meaning not only did I stumble into the shower area more than once whilst going to wash my hands and it would indeed be possible to have a shower while sitting on the toilet! And then we get to the access issue, while it does state they have no lift, it’s somewhat hidden away and should be clearly displayed in the information for each room. Had I been aware of this I would NEVER have booked it for me and my 83yr old father (To make it worse, we had to go up and down 4 flights of stairs) Then when you finally get there, there is a massive gap between the landing and the level where the rooms are ( It’s a good couple of inches higher than a 500ml bottle!) it’s seriously a broken arm or leg just waiting to happen…

Well, this place does not have great reviews, but it is OK. I (we) travel on a budget and this place was fine. There is a good take out Turkish place and a 7/11 next door if you need something to eat in a rush. It is a mile or two from the downtown if you are a late night party person this is probably not for you. It is a quick walk to the Central Station which can get you to the airport quickly. I’ve read in some of the reviews about an unpleasant smell in the bathroom. This can be fixed with a “p-trap” and a good plumber. No elevator if you have mobility issues.

Friendly staff. We were allowed to leave the suitcases when they could not check in yet. 500 dkr deposit per room. Looks neat in the photos, but the hotel is dated and nowhere neatly finished. Starting to fall apart. noisy. Bathrooms to cry. Very small, you can't move. Shower head over toilet bowl. Shame! Bedding clean, rooms not. Cleaning could be better, now it's a bit fresh but it's not clean. Stains in the carpet, dirty rancid edges in the bathroom and toilet. Sail on the bathroom floor. Luxaflex was broken. Luckily this was for one night. Never, never again. Paid too much money for this hotel!
